LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN COMMUNITY CHURCH, GOLDEN, CO – Teaching pastor
The Teaching Pastor is responsible for preaching and teaching in an inspirational, prophetic, relational style that communicates the goal/desire of the LMCC community to love Jesus deeply, with the cross and resurrection at the heart of who we are and why we worship and how we serve. Preaching/Teaching duties will occur approximately 30-35 weekends per year (Saturday PM, Sunday AM, 2 services) including Easter and Christmas Eve. LMCC has adopted a shared leadership model (currently a 4 Pastor Team) with a revolving sense of authority – at any one moment a person, called and gifted for a particular task, steps up and leads the community forward. Such a model encourages different leaders at various times and strategic moments. The pastoral staff reports to the Board of Elders (Session of the Church, consisting of both men and women).
LMCC is a member Church of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church (ordination within the EPC is not a requirement) with an average weekend attendance of approximately 750 adults and children and an annual operating budget of approximately $2.1million. The congregational makeup of LMCC continues to be a multi-generational community of faith from a variety of denominational backgrounds. The Church is made up of singles, young families, as well as families with teenagers and empty-nesters.
We are looking for a gifted preacher/teacher/communicator of the Gospel who can work in and harmoniously participate in a shared leadership team model. The person will have approximately 3-10 years of ministry/preaching experience, preferably from a moderate Reformed theological perspective. A seminary degree is preferred along with an undergraduate degree. The candidate must demonstrate outstanding gifting in preaching/teaching and have available audio or video samples of past sermons.
